Padlock puzzle5/2/2023 ![]() ![]() I think I would display this puzzle in it’s disassembled state to everyone and it will be set on the most visible place on the shelf as a trophy to my utmost patience and zealous, vehement willpower.Įqua is a great Hanayama piece that will certainly take some time to solve, but at least it has a pattern. That is why this puzzle is a real gem of level 5 and a must-have for every puzzle lover who likes a challenge. I kid you not, even if you look for a video solution - you will, most probably, have a hard time solving it. How do you understand the move is right and the one you need? Well, there’s no obvious way to understand that.Īnd what is even more peculiar, is that it is next to impossible to actually describe this moves with words. The funny thing about Cast Equa’s mechanism is that it is actually quite complex and you will be able to disassemble the puzzle only if you follow a very strict order of moves. I am not sure whether it is intended but it actually does not worsen the overall impression of the puzzle. Usually, everything is super smooth, but with Equa, sometimes, you will need to apply force. Yes, you need to get the ball out of the construction and, at first, it seems completely impossible.Īs for the quality - it is great, as usual with Hanayama, but some moves and interlocks have a bit more tension than your usual Hanayama puzzle. The planet actually consists of 2 intersecting “C”-type parts and the whole objective is to disassemble the puzzle. The whole idea about it is that the pyramid, or triangle, is a ring of a planet and the small ball inside is the planet itself. So, Equa looks like a pyramid with the ball inside. ![]() I kid you not, I saw comments on the internet saying the whole families are not able to solve this puzzle for YEARS.Įven Cast Vortex is not that entirely frustrating. Most probably the difficulty of this puzzle was reconsidered at some point as EVEN MORE difficult puzzles appeared on the line-up, like Cast Vortex or Cast Trinity.īut what if they wanted to add a little bit of deception to Level 5? To get people thinking that it shouldn’t be all that bad, but in the end, they receive a full-fledged Level 6. Cast Equa has an interesting story behind it as if you’d look at some of the video materials on the internet, most of them will show you that it is a Level 6 puzzle, but the current listings depict it as Level 5 by Hanayama difficulty system. ![]()
