All materials posted were considered to be offered under the assumption that they could be used with the other materials in the set, with proper credits of course. Some of you may have seen the "What about Ralph?" thread at, or perhaps the Portrait template thread, in which some materials were posted, and then various artists continued to contribute to the theme. So once again Granny has been gathering up everything she can find, and is posting it here (or linking it here, if she does not have permission to repost, because Grannies always respect original artists!)īut Granny has also been busily frankenspriting and editing, and realises that she could get so much more done with community help. And although some methods of mapping underwater scenes, such as fogs and tints, can look nice, there are not really very many good resources readily available. Netflix haunted space station show5/1/2023 ![]() ![]() Many things can go wrong when humans traverse the Earth’s atmosphere, as the series acknowledges with recaps of the Challenger and Columbia space shuttle missions - the former erupted during launch, and the latter upon its return. Netflix’s livestream represents a unique risk: Traveling to space is inherently risky. Other regulars from Netflix series and films are expected to make surprise appearances. Hosted by “Queer Eye” regular Karamo Brown and journalist Soledad O’Brien, the event will include input and analysis from NASA astronauts Ron Garan and Cady Coleman, among others. Exact time is weather permitting and subject to change, as is always the case. The mission launch is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15 between 5:00 p.m. IndieWire can exclusively report that on Wednesday, Netflix will host a 90-minute livestream show on YouTube covering the launch as the capsule blasts off from Kennedy Space Center. The current Netflix series “ Inspiration 4 Mission to Space” has been following the recruitment and training for the participants, with new episodes airing in the build-up to the launch. 'Beef' Review: Ali Wong and Steven Yeun Are Knockouts in Netflix's Outsized A24 Dramaįrom 'Oppenheimer' to 'Dune: Part Two,' Here's Where to See Florence Pugh NextĢ023 Emmy Predictions: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Perhaps in the sweeping vistas of outer space, Korea’s filmmakers will continue to find a fresh and promising new frontier for storytelling.Netflix's Ad-Supported Tier Is Hitting Its Stride In the wake of pioneering works like Space Sweepers and The Silent Sea, it will be meaningful to witness how Korean content might bring its own unique historical contexts into the genre, shaping new poetics and politics. The fear of attack by RX and RX-loyal individuals is constant and palpable throughout the series, a foreign threat that places the crew in perpetual peril. South Korea’s fraught history of invasion by foreign powers like Japan and the Soviet-backed North Korea - and even American imperialism - have become the subject of many Korean films and can potentially give a greater gravity to the events unfolding onscreen.Īrriving at Korea’s Balhae Lunar Research Station on the moon, the Silent Sea ’s mission team encounters a deceased foreign mercenary and team members whisper about a possible intrusion by “RX,” a multi-national mafia that loots resources from the moon and space stations. In The Silent Sea, this cosmic fear of foreign threats is heightened in the foreboding, forsaken landscape of space. For example, this has been famously explored through the interplanetary wars of Star Wars and Ridley Scott’s Alien. Space cinema has also often taken liberties with the elevated fear of invasion and attack in outer space. These are systemic injustices and institutional inequalities - and perhaps, the vastness of space is the only setting that can capture the sheer expanse of these issues. In the cruelly capitalistic world of Space Sweepers, space junk - and even human lives - are all given a value, to be commodified and traded within a system where the rich get richer, while the poor are oppressed in a vicious cycle of poverty. ![]() Amid the breezy humor and quirky visuals, there is a more serious commentary in Space Sweepers about capitalism, class and climate change. ![]() Iconquer kids saireesh surani5/1/2023 ![]() ![]() “ The way they love to live a healthy lifestyle is the greatest motivation anyone could ask for.” “ My motivation is found from the children we teach because their eyes light up when they try something that’s not only good but also healthy,” says Zoya. With help from local middle school, high school and college students, iConquer captures the attention of these young children and makes it cool to lead a healthy lifestyle! Once you arrive at one of the larger green complexes on the golf course you will note two deep bunkers just short left of the green that seem to collect many approach shots. Another memorable hole with that showcases the beautiful parkland style golf course would be Furnace Run #3, a medium length par 5 that becomes much more challenging with 3 fairway bunkers in the landing zone of many tee shots, be sure to clear the subtle creek that will certainly affect your second shot. This 603 yard par 5 plays into the prevailing wind with a pristine pond to collect any errant approach shots that miss the green to the right. I wouldn't agree he needs to stop playing/give up membership but that there needs to be a better balance between you both having personal time and family time.A few of the more notable holes at Seneca Golf Course are the challenging Furnace Run #8. You need to reclaim some space to do this.ĭifferent clubs have different rules but I'd be surprised if he has to play as often as he does to continue his membership. Where I think you are unreasonable is giving up your songwriting. It's ok in theory to say do your own hobbies but as a mother if you took out the same personal time out of the schedule that golf requires you'd never do anything as a family. I was a partner to a golfer and it was a significant factor why he's an ex. It's not going to the gym for a few hours or playing football for three hours. I'm not sure how many posters here understand that golf every Saturday means all day and that also true of one Sunday a month. Hobbies are important for both parents but in my experience when it comes to golf it's simply too much. I think you're getting a rough response here OP. My advice would be to either find a compromise or make sure you take some time for yourself too, so that you're both getting a break and doing something you want. Also, he would never dare complain about me spending money on something for myself given how much he spends on golf, so I do treat myself now and again too to keep things even! He wouldn't begrudge me an equivalent hobby I don't think, not that I've ever put that to the test! But I do get my own down time and spend time with girlfriends etc. No idea why!? Maybe I'm just resigned to my fate! Dh says he needs it for his mental health and I can see that it has physical benefits and helps him stay healthy so there are plus points to it. Weirdly I'm more relaxed with it now we have two than I was when we had one. ![]() Sometimes I feel like we miss out on family stuff as a result, but we do still do stuff together, we try and work around it. I used to resent it but now I just make sure I get some equivalent time to myself and it's made me feel better. I feel that he should give up his hobby now too. I used to be a songwriter, that was my hobby but I gave it up about 5 years ago when we started trying for a family. At some point she's going to start reasoning that he'd rather do that then spend time with us, which is upsetting for me let alone her. My 2 year old understands everything now and often asks where Daddy is, and I'm getting fed up of saying 'Daddy playing golf today'. Instead of being a member of a club like he is at the moment, he should just play casually, maybe once a month or something, and then he can get back into it more passionately once our children are grown in 10-15 years, is that unreasonable? I personally feel that any hobbies like that should go on the back burner for a bit whilst we bring up our children and spend quality time together as much as possible. We've been together 12 years and have a family now, a 2 year old and a 1 month old. So some weeks up to 3 times, others only once. He plays every Saturday without fail and probably one Sunday a month and then once a week after work in the summer too. My husband has always played golf since being a little kid (apart from the first 2 years when we met). ![]() AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
